Is it really almost the end?

Riding gravel on the Erie Canal

It’s not easy to thank everyone for helping me on this ride. Donations aside, I’ve had people supporting me. And, in true Greg style, it’s a unique bunch. I’ve got coworkers. Lots of them. I’ve also got my ex-wife, and an ex-girlfriend. Both of which are all just dear friends now, but those titles are just pretty darn funny.

My funny moment of the day…This morning, it was cool as we left camp. I had my NYAC wind vest on and a gentleman came up and asked if that was the NYAC Winged Foot? He was from, I believe Chicago. I confirmed it was that Winged Foot. He told me about a relative that used to be a member and was on the Track team. Lots of impressive athletes in the NYACs history. And he asked what sport I practiced with the Club. “Me? No sport. I’m actually the guy that heads up the Club’s IT.”. Bewildered look enssued.

Tomorrow follow along virtually. Cheer as we swarm into Niagara Falls. We may be sore, sweaty, bruised, but we now share a bond.

Cheers abound every time a rider makes it to camp

  1. Socony Motor Gasoline. Classic. Congratulations to all ESR participants and especially the guy wearing the Winged Foot who heads up IT.

  2. I get a bewildered look when I mention that I work in IT. Can’t tell if it’s because I work in IT or because of my face.
