Day Four… the Longest Day

Day four has kicked off and today is the longest day of the ride, so be sure to send extra encouragement Greg’s way! I wanted to thank everyone who shared their inspiring and heartfelt stories yesterday about how cancer has affected your lives. Keri and Tricia made me tear up with their words, and really reminded us all why Greg is doing this ride- to help find a cure for cancer.

People are stretching everywhere they can to prepare for the longest day. Even on a barn floor before breakfast.

Here’s a shot of the tents this morning.

Greg’s morning coffee routine is slowly evolving. Now part of it includes electrolyte pills and also ibuprofen. He shared that Advil is now part of everyone’s regular diet.

Greg shared again his detailed stats from yesterday’s ride which you can see above. One interesting fact that Greg pointed out: “one disgusting but oddly fascinating tidbit. My sweat loss yesterday was 3526ml. So almost two 2-liter bottles of soda. Or almost a gallon (3700 ml in a gallon).”

This is some of Greg’s playlist from this morning! (My personal favorite from this list is Pour Some Sugar On Me).

A group photo featuring Scott Cohen (in the tutu). Scott wears a different tutu every day representing different kinds of cancer. Today is his breast cancer awareness day.

Here’s a cool shot of the Erie Canal!

Below are some videos that Greg passed along.

I will be back as more updates roll in. As I type this, Greg is passing the Mohawk River, which is the largest tributary of the Hudson River! Keep it pushing Greg and we all are rooting you on!!!
