Daily Ride Details
A group photo of all of the cancer survivors that rode.
The entire peloton crossing the finish. I’m about 49 seconds in.

And so ends 2022. On the surface, it seemed like a rinse and repeat of last year. In reality, it was a completely different experience. Leading up to this ride, I had such an amazing bunch of people support me. During the ride, the experience was transformative. For me, I realized that maybe I’m not half bad at cycling. I wasn’t the fastest, but I held my own. So many people offered support to me during the ride, ranging from comments here to e-mails to sending out daughters with cardboard signs in random places…it was truly touching. And each message helped push me along that little bit more. I don’t think I could have completed the ride without that encouragement. Over the course of the week, so many stories were shared, so many tears shed….it’s hard to believe that there was time to get in miles on the bike.

When I came back, reality hit me very hard. All of a sudden it’s over. Time to resume feeding the geckos, doing laundry, and going grocery shopping.

More than anything, I’ve been asked countless times “Will you ride again in 2023?”

You’re looking for that answer? Every good production ends leaving you wondering if there will be a sequel, and so shall I.
